Actually, I have been warned to eat to much rhubarb or reheated spinach as well. Not because it is toxic, but because it depleates your bones and teeth of calcium. So if you eat it, take care to replenish your calcium with dairy or sesame. In most traditional recepies for rhubarb or spinach you will find some dayiry or sesame alreasy added.

Just fry it without washing, bugs and soil are not poisonous, and just add some salt on it and thats it.

I knew that buttercups were toxic to guinea pigs. I didn't know they were event toxic to the touch. Scary, considering that little girls rub yellow flowers, including these on their chin to see if they "Like butter" (Whether it will stain the skin yellow). Yikes! They should stick to using dandelions.

Mom always cooked morels exactly the same way that she cooked fish. Cleaned by soaking in cool water, rolled in a corn meal/ wheat flour/seasoned salt mixture and fried to a crispy crunch 💁🏼 like onion rings and hush puppies. Served with ketchup or with dad’s Creole-style remoulade sauce; made with mayo, mustard, hot sauce, and spices. It's easy to make. Dry-land fish with Remoulade sauce. 👌😘

I loved foraging these as a kid, but for some reason I haven't been able to find any since then. I remember on a camp trip the tutor told us those plants would give you the runs, but I was confused because I consumed them in mass with no issues. Also, I recommend cooking wood sorrel, I used to put them on the outside of a fireplace to brown them and they tasted like sour apples!

I ate this a lot growing up hiking and I did get bad calcium oxalate kidney stones in my 30s requiring surgery.... Your mileage will vary of course, and I suspect dehydration played as big a role too. Not everyone is as susceptible but if you're prone to stones stay away or be careful to eat dairy with it.

I've always loved buttercups for their beauty. There weren't any growing near my house, but we had a little cabin in a Wisconsin swamp and there would be buttercups and trillium and Jack-in-the-pulpit growing there. Oh and columbine! They all seemed like such magical flowers ❤
